Currently, 21 RRBs operate under the Railway Recruitment Control Board (RRCB). In 1998, all RRBs were placed under the authority of the RRCB, which was established within the Ministry of Railways to coordinate and streamline their functioning.

First time in July 1942, as an experimental measure, a Service Commission with a Chairman and two members was established for the recruitment of Subordinate Staff on the then North West Railway. The position was reviewed in 1945, and Services Commissions at Bombay, Calcutta, Madras, and Lucknow were set up under the Railway Board. In January 1985, Railway Service Commissions were renamed as Railway Recruitment Boards(RRBs).

During the creation of your account, candidates should authenticate their identity using Aadhaar or Digilocker for faster verification process at different stages of selection.
